As the saying goes: “Smokers don’t grow old, ‘Coz they die young.” This, alone is a good reason why should someone need to quit smoking now. Not only the lives of the smokers are cut short whenever they smoke but also the lives of their family members, the second-hand smokers. Therefore quitting is the most important thing you can do for your health and the health of your family members.
Aside from this, there are still more reasons to quit smoking.
- Best reason is for you to live a longer life. Quitting now will decrease your chance of premature death. According to research, smokers die 15 years earlier than those who don’t smoke.
- Quitting will help you protect your family from second hand smoking which causes bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, and cancer. It will help improve the health of the people around you as well.
- Doing so will improving your health. Smoking causes cancer, particularly lung cancer, heart disease and stroke. It is said that the minute you quit smoking, your health will start to get better. You may get rid of breathing discomfort and cough. You may also notice that your skin looks younger and your teeth whiter. Babies of smoker parents are more likely to be born premature.

Until I couldnt last a day without having a taste of even a single stick of my favorite brand. My average was 15 pieces per day, and the most was 1 pack.
It took me years to finally quit it, I’ve already tried those Zero-Nicotine, Marijuana-smelling cigarettes which promises to make you quit smoking in just 7 days. I’ve even tried consulting to different friends who managed to quit their vices. I had even gone under prayer over with my pastor whom i consulted my situation.
Perhaps I may say thay I am lucky and blessed enough to realize and find a way to quit smoking. Smoking really is dangerous to our health, it is severely addictive like the government reminds.
