WAYS TO MAKE YOUR PREGNANCY EASIER
If you are expecting, you may have experienced or presently experiencing the most difficult part of pregnancy. For most women, the first trimester is the most difficult part of pregnancy but there are lucky women who have not experienced it at all. An others experienced it the entire 9 months of their pregnancy.
These difficulties includes nausea, vomiting, heart burn and morning sickness. These difficulties are all caused by the sudden change of the hormonal level in our body during pregnancy. I have read lots of books about pregnancy and I want to share some of the effective ways to get rid of these difficulties or at least lessen them.
- Eat frequently but of small amounts. This will help your body digest the foods you eat properly. This is an effective way to greatly reduce nausea.
- Make it a habit to eat cracker in the morning and before going to bed. This could be easily digested by your body.
- Try to nosh on foods that are not too spicy or acidic. This will reduce nausea and heart burn.
- To demote vomiting, limit your consumption of sodium. Stay away from canned or frozen foods and greatly salted foods.
- Drink plenty of fluids especially right after every noshes.
GENES VS. ENVIRONMENT ON THE CAUSE OF SCHIZOPHRENIA.
Before I clarify my stand on whether Schizophrenia is something caused by genes or environment, Let me introduce the term first for those who are not familiar with it. The term Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that is characterized by a person’s abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality.
Most of us believed that this is something that is caused by emotional disturbances on one’s mind. Emotional disturbances may be caused by people surrounding them who may not be satisfied by what he is doing, people who always contradicts his plans, or parents showing unequal love to their offspring. Other’s blame it to the immediate family’s not paying attention , not showing affection, much love, care, trust and others that may affect one’s emotional stability.
Studies about the causes of Schizophrenia suggest that genetics and early environment are both contributory factors as well as social and psychological process of a person. According to a research, those children born during winter months in the Northern hemisphere as well as those who are born in an urban environment is associated with increased risk of Schizophrenia than the average kids. Children born from mother who had genital infections, exposed to alcohol and x-ray radiation, suffer from great stress, used pain killers, had low folic level, and lacked vitamin D from the sun during pregnancy are all associated with a higher risk of Schizophrenia.
Complications during baby’s delivery, old age of the father, are also associated to a child’s higher risk of Schizophrenia. Others associated to a child’s higher risk to Schizophrenia are social isolation, stress, and head injury early in life.
On the other hand, breast feeding your baby, less stress on the child, exposure to the sun’s vitamin D, proper nutrition, antioxidant supplements and enriched social environment, may lower the risk of Schizophrenia.
ADHD or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder…
Being in the Education field led me to the realization that each child has different needs when it comes to instruction. I have seen students that really made well in my subjects but what really got my attention are those kids who are extremely active that I found it so hard to get their attention into my instruction. These kids are more active than what should be usual for their age.
I’ve known few students in my class acting this way. These students are suffering from Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. And it is usual for those kids who have ADHD to possess this unusual impulsiveness. They also have problems paying attention in school. Their behavior made it impossible for them to be understood and leads to learning, social relationship, and behavioral problems.
ADHD is common to school-age children and especially seen in boys. You may notice that a child who has ADHD and is hyperactive may move and talk too much, cannot stay on his seat longer, or cannot wait for his turn. While a child who has ADHD and is inattentive may show difficulty following instruction and paying attention. Also, they usually forget things needed for their activity and frequently lose their possessions.
Patience and understanding is needed by these kids who posses this kind of disorder. The more you understand them and their situation, the easier it will be to interact with them.
WAYS TO HAVE A HEALTHY BABY
Child bearing is indeed the essence of a woman. This is one thing a man cannot do although it had been reported that a married transgender man actually gave birth to a baby girl and claimed that he enjoyed it. Aside from education, a healthy body is one thing a mother should give to her baby. To provide a good health, I believe, is a mother’s obligation even to the unborn. Those who can not provide good health to their kids, I believe, should not plan and even think to have a baby in the first place.
It’s so alarming that sitting on the tenth place on the top 10 causes of death in the world is premature death. Don’t let this happen to your baby. A number of mother confessed that they wished they had been more careful on their pregnancy because only now that they see the consequences of their actions.
Premature birth is the number one cause of newborn death in the first month of the baby’s life. Of course there are also those who survived but they will surely have life long health problems. And that is more painful for a mother to see her baby suffering for its entire life.
There are so many things that can be harmful to a baby’s health. Learn to give up the things that would do harm to your baby’s health. Caffeine is one thing found to be a cause of miscarriage. Caffeine is found on tea, coffee and other drinks.
If you did not take care of your health before you were pregnant, you better start changing your lifestyle if you are planning to have a baby. Because the moment that you conceive, you would have an innocent creature inside you who is totally dependent on what you eat and do. This is the perfect excuse to nourish yourself and at the same time nourish the baby inside you as well. Nurture yourself now more than ever.
Make sure that you eat foods from the three basic food groups equally. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. It has been proven to make your baby’s skin more supple and nicer than others’. Pay attention to your calcium and folic acid intake, too. You need more of them now than before you are pregnant.
Studies showed that eating fish is best for pregnant women. This lessen their risk for premature birth or having babies with abnormalities.
Always have a prenatal check-up. Your doctor may give you iron supplement for you because the baby had used up all the iron from your body.
Eat organic! That’s the best way to keep toxic chemicals from getting inside your body. Drink plenty of water. Your body needs more water now than ever.
Loose weight now – not just to look better but to live longer!
Many women tried as much dieting as possible just to look slimmer, because we have to admit, men liked slimmer, well-curved girls. They believed that if you want your man to keep his eyes on you, you better be in shape or else he will dump you without explanation. These women loose the fact that aside from the “goddess figure” benefit of loosing weight, there are even more worthy reasons why we should loose weight or merely watch our weight. Tips for a peaceful deep sleep
If you want to have a peaceful deep sleep, you may try these time-tested natural methods:
- Relax your body and mind. Try not to think on anything.
- Rest your back on the bed. For me, this is the most comfortable position to have a good sleep because the back had been so tired for the whole day.
- Keep your room temperature cool or warm depending on the weather.
- Play soothing music.
- Ask your partner to massage your back
- Others find drinking hot milk before bedtime effective if they want to fall asleep fast
- Wear loose comfortable clothes.
- Read books until you feel sleepy. Kids used to get sleepy fast when somebody reads book for them.
- Don’t drink coffee 2 to 3 hours before you sleep.
- Have a hot bath, this will relax your tired body and make you fall asleep fast.
- Rest your back on comfortably soft pillows.

- Position your bed near the switches of the light or the air conditioner so that if you have to switch them on, you would not have to stand up for this may disturb your sleeping.

SOUTH BEACH DIET
South Beach Diet, I first got curious about this when I saw it on the television. Then later on, I heard so much about it with my officemates and friends, though I do not really need to know about it, I browsed the net about it out of curiosity.
South beach diet was developed by cardiologist Arthur Agatston to help his patients lose weight and maintain a healthy diet for a lifetime. Take note, the target of his diet program was for a lifetime. South Beach Diet has three phases, Phase I id to Adjust your Metabolism, Phase II is Weight Loss and Phase III is Lifetime Maintenance.
The eating plan gives emphasis on low carbohydrate foods, processed starches, restriction of sweets, white sugar and “unhealthy fats”, and all the protein you want. It specifies minimum amounts of low carb vegetables to be eaten daily that are remarkably close to the recommendations made by the American Diabetes Association and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
This diet program does not allow the following during Phase I of the South Beach Diet: candy, cake, cookies potatoes, pasta, bread, rice, baked goods, fruit, ice cream, sugar or alcohol. The focus of this diet should be on foods low on the Glycemic Index level, such as yogurt, cucumbers, broccoli and the likes.

Everyday, I work in front of my computer as part of my everyday life, What I like most in my line of work is that I get to discover a lot of new things and new information and data about the current happenings making me updated at my surrounding at all times. H1N1, How is it transmitted?
Many people today are now scared of eating pork. Because of the news that H1N1 virus come from pigs or other pork products. The truth is eating pork or other pork products are safe just as long it is cook and prepared well, it doesn’t necessarily cause the spread of the said virus but with the direct exposure to pigs.
But the influenza virus can be transmitted from human to human or human to pig. Human infection with pig viruses can occur when people had a close contact with those infected pigs.
Human to human transmission can also occur. Just like an ordinary people having an ordinary influenza. Just by sneezing or coughing of people infected with influenza, you as a person still unaffected with influenza can suddenly get this disease, or just by touching a people infected with it.
See how easy this disease can spread to us, humans? We can’t say that we are immune or we have a strong stamina. Because diseases do not choosing people. We all don’t know when or where they can come to us, the only thing that we can do now is to be careful and have a healthy lifestyle. But the most important thing to do to avoid having disease is by washing our hand.
